Your Right to Control Your Personal Information

Muslim Association of Snoqualmie Ridge (MASR) respects your privacy and your right to control your personal data. You have the right to request deletion of your personal information from our Snoqualmie Mosque mobile application at any time.

2. What Data Can Be Deleted

Upon your request, we will delete the following personal information:

  • Account information (name, email, phone number)
  • Profile details (date of birth, gender, address)
  • Profile pictures and personal preferences
  • Notification preferences and device tokens
  • Feedback and communication history
  • Event registration information
  • Prayer time preferences and customizations

3. Information We May Retain

For legal, security, and operational purposes, we may retain certain information even after deletion requests:

  • Anonymized usage analytics (cannot be linked to you personally)
  • Transaction records required for financial compliance
  • Information necessary to comply with legal obligations
  • Security logs needed to protect against fraud and abuse
  • Backup data (automatically purged within 90 days)

4. How to Request Data Deletion

4.1 Through the Mobile App

  1. Open the Snoqualmie Mosque App
  2. Go to Settings or Profile
  3. Select Account Settings
  4. Choose Delete Account
  5. Confirm your request and provide reason (optional)
  6. Receive confirmation email within 24 hours

4.2 Via Email Request

Send an email to privacy@snoqualmiemosque.org with:

  • Subject: "Data Deletion Request"
  • Your full name as registered in the app
  • Email address associated with your account
  • Phone number (if provided during registration)
  • Reason for deletion (optional)

4.3 Phone Request

Call us at (425) 517-1472 during business hours (Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM PST) and speak with our privacy officer.

5. Data Deletion Process

5.1 Verification

To protect your privacy and prevent unauthorized deletion requests, we will verify your identity through:

  • Email verification (confirmation sent to registered email)
  • Account authentication (if requesting through the app)
  • Phone verification (for phone requests)

5.2 Timeline

1 24 Hours: Request acknowledgment and verification
2 30 Days: Complete data deletion from active systems
3 90 Days: Automatic purging from backup systems

5.3 Confirmation

You will receive email confirmation when your data deletion is complete. This process is irreversible.

6. Alternative to Full Deletion

6.1 Account Deactivation

If you're unsure about permanent deletion, you can temporarily deactivate your account:

  • Your data remains but is not accessible or processed
  • You can reactivate your account within 90 days
  • After 90 days of inactivity, the account may be automatically deleted

6.2 Selective Data Deletion

You can request deletion of specific data types while keeping your account:

  • Profile pictures
  • Optional personal information (address, phone)
  • Feedback and communication history
  • Event registration history

7. Impact of Data Deletion

⚠️ Important: What Happens After Deletion

  • You will lose access to your account and all personalized features
  • Prayer time preferences will be reset to default
  • Event registration history will be removed
  • Push notification preferences will be cleared
  • You cannot recover deleted data or accounts
  • You may create a new account with the same email address

8. Third-Party Data

Some data may be processed by third-party services integrated with our app:

  • Push Notification Services: Device tokens are automatically removed when you uninstall the app
  • Analytics Services: Anonymized data cannot be linked back to you
  • Prayer Time APIs: No personal data is shared with these services

We will assist you in requesting data deletion from third-party services where applicable.

9. Children's Data

If you are a parent or guardian requesting deletion of a child's data (under 18), please include:

  • Proof of guardianship or parental relationship
  • The child's account information
  • Your contact information for verification

We prioritize the protection of children's privacy and will expedite such requests.

10. Legal Compliance

This data deletion policy complies with:

  • California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
  • Google Play and Apple App Store requirements
  • Washington State privacy laws
